The Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) officially launched its annual Ramazan Campaign 2025 at its Korangi Campus in Karachi on February 11. The event was attended by senior leadership, philanthropists, corporate representatives, media personnel, hospital staff, and over 100 youth volunteers from various schools.

The Ramazan Campaign 2025 aims to ensure the uninterrupted provision of quality healthcare services at IHHN, one of Pakistan’s largest free-of-cost healthcare networks. This year, the fundraising target is set at over Rs. 5 billion, which will be used to fund surgeries, emergency care, and diagnostic services, benefiting millions of patients nationwide.

The event opened with a speech by Mr. Salim Razzak Tabani, Chairman of the Fundraising Committee, who emphasized IHHN’s mission and expressed gratitude to donors, government bodies, private welfare organizations, corporate partners, and the media. He reaffirmed that Ramazan Campaign 2025 will serve as a beacon of hope for patients in need.

Mr. Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director of Communications and Resource Development at IHHN, provided insights into IHHN’s expansion and its extensive healthcare services. He shared that the network currently operates:

  • 13 hospitals
  • 4 regional blood centers
  • 3 physical rehabilitation centers
  • Over 100 primary care centers
  • Several public health initiatives
  • Indus University of Health Sciences
  • Indus Research Center

He also highlighted Pakistan’s Zakat potential, stating that over 400,000 families fall below the poverty line annually due to rising healthcare costs, making IHHN a lifeline for millions of patients. He noted that more than 500,000 patients receive free treatment at IHHN every month, with 70% of them benefiting from Zakat funds.

During the event, Mr. Abdul Karim Paracha, Chairman of the Board, stated:

“Indus Hospital & Health Network is not just about providing treatment; it is about building a healthcare system where every individual receives medical care without discrimination. This journey continues with the support of the public and philanthropists, and we all have a role to play in this mission.”

Addressing the attendees via video link, IHHN President Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, who was traveling at the time, emphasized that trust and community contributions have helped Indus Hospital expand into a nationwide healthcare network. He urged continued financial support, especially given the current economic challenges, to sustain free-of-cost medical services for those in need.

The event concluded with collective prayers for the campaign’s success.

During the media Q&A session, IHHN CEO Dr. Zafar Zaidi highlighted that IHHN’s sustainability model is supported by an endowment fund and generous contributions from overseas Pakistanis, which play a crucial role in funding healthcare services and needs to be appreciated for contributing to this noble cause.
