**ISLAMABAD:** Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, conducted a closed-door briefing with political leaders to discuss national security and the prevailing situation, according to sources.

Senior leaders from allied government parties and other political groups attended the session, where they were briefed on the country’s current security landscape, as per sources.

The meeting was held at the PTV Headquarters in Islamabad, where participants were updated on Pakistan’s defense preparedness, diplomatic engagements, and the government’s official stance.

DG ISPR delivered a comprehensive presentation on military operations and recent developments concerning India’s activities.

During the session, the political leadership was assured of Pakistan’s peaceful intentions and desire for regional stability. However, the DG ISPR firmly stated that any act of aggression by India would be met with a strong and decisive response by Pakistan’s armed forces.

Sources further revealed that the briefing addressed recent Indian military movements and the potential threat of a false flag operation. Political leaders were made aware of the risks involved.

DG ISPR emphasized that all national institutions are working in complete coordination to counter any threats from across the border.

The armed forces’ readiness to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty was reiterated, along with details of the government’s diplomatic strategies and its position on international platforms.

Representatives from multiple political parties—including PML-N, PPP, MQM, JUI-F, and the Balochistan Awami Party—were present. However, sources confirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) did not participate in the briefing.

Notable figures in attendance included Pervez Khattak, Mahmood Khan, Noor Alam Khan, Senator Abdul Shakoor, Khurram Dastgir, Abid Sher Ali, and Badar Shehbaz.

The session served as a detailed update for political leaders on the evolving security dynamics and Pakistan’s strategic response plans.

DG ISPR reiterated that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation committed to maintaining stability in the region. Nevertheless, he underscored that the armed forces are fully prepared to deliver a firm response to any Indian misadventure.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also briefed participants on the government’s diplomatic efforts and the state’s official stance regarding the situation.

Sources concluded that the confidential briefing played a key role in fostering unity among political leadership on matters of national security and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to protect its sovereignty.
