Rain Forecast Issued for Karachi, Coastal and Southeastern Sindh Districts
KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall for Karachi and several southeastern and coastal districts of Sindh on Thursday.
As per the latest weather update, light to moderate rain accompanied by strong winds is likely in various districts including Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, and Karachi on July 3rd and 4th.
The forecast also indicates the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall in lower and southeastern parts of Sindh. Meanwhile, other areas of the province are expected to remain hot and humid.
According to PMD, monsoon activity across the country is expected to intensify starting July 5 as moisture-laden currents continue to enter Pakistan. Additionally, a westerly weather system is likely to reach the upper regions by July 6.
In Balochistan, rainfall is expected in northeastern and southern districts between July 3–4 and again from July 6–8.
From July 5 to 10, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are forecasted to receive rain, thunderstorms, and scattered heavy to very heavy showers with occasional gaps. Gilgit-Baltistan is also expected to see similar weather conditions from July 6 to 10.
Punjab, including Islamabad, is predicted to experience wind, thunder, and scattered heavy rainfall from July 5 to 10. In southern Punjab, rain is expected between July 6–8 in districts such as Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Layyah.
