Karachi, October 23: Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has said that the Sindh government is serious about solving the problems faced by the marble industry and Sindh government will complete the Marble City Project soon which is over 300 acres near the Northern Bypass. The project is expected to help the stone, granite and marble industry flourish which ultimately attract foreign investment.
“The Marble City will be developed as an industrial estate to uplift the value-added marble and granite sector and allied industries.”
He expressed these views while addressing a function of All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA) and assured them full support of the Sindh Government . On this occasion, Chairman of the All Pakistan Marble Association Muhammad Bilal and other office bearers welcomed the Provincial Minister for Industries and Commerce , Jam Ikramullah Dharejo. Marble Industry fraternity and Office bearers of the association said that more than 450 marble industries were active in Manghopir Industrial Zone and earning valuable foreign exchange by exporting Marble . Chairman APMIA Mohammed Bilal informed the honorable minister about the problems facing the Marble traders especially the Assistant Commissioner of Manghopir area is continuously harassing our members and some of the factories were shut down due to his unnecessary enforcement actions.
Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo added, ‘ The marble industry is one of the important industries of Pakistan having visionary leadership . Pakistan has the best marble reservoirs in the world. He said that People associated with the marble industry should play their effective role in eliminating environmental pollution. Jam Ikramullah Dharejo said that the law and order situation in the industrial zones of the province was much better than in the past. Steps were also being taken to remove encroachments in the industrial zones.
Jam Ikramullah Dharejo said that the government of Sindh stands with the business community and industrialists at all levels. Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has directed that every possible step should be taken for industrial development in the province.
