Karachi, February 20, 2026:
A delegation led by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Karachi, Yang Yundong, called on the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh on Investment and Public-Private Partnership, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, at the Sindh Investment Department office, Finance and Trade Center, Karachi.
Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar warmly welcomed the Chinese delegation upon their arrival. The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, particularly Chinese investment initiatives in Sindh.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar said that the foundation of Pak-China friendship was laid by the founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and that this foundation has evolved into a strong and enduring partnership between the two nations.
He remarked that Pakistan and China share an unparalleled bond of friendship that continues to grow stronger with each passing day. Describing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a game-changer project, he said it has created vast opportunities for economic and social development in the region.
The Special Assistant further emphasized that all available avenues are being utilized to enhance economic, social, and cultural ties between the two countries.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding ongoing and potential Chinese investment projects in Sindh. Both sides agreed on the importance of organizing industrial and trade exhibitions in China and Pakistan to promote business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) collaborations. Such initiatives, they noted, would enable investors to gain better insights into available investment opportunities.
Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar assured the delegation of the Sindh government’s full support in facilitating Chinese investors.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary Investment Sindh Zubair Ahmed Channa, Secretary Industries and Commerce Sindh Sadia Jaffer, CEO Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF) Khizar Pervaiz, CEO Sindh Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) Faisal Mujeeb, CEO Sindh Economic Zones Management Company (SEZMC) Abdul Azeem Uqaili, representatives of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), and senior officials of relevant departments.
