FPCCI Pledges to Repatriate $10 Billion Ahead of Budget

Federal Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi visited the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry to address key concerns of the business community and announced a special passport facility for businesspersons.
He urged traders and industrialists to repatriate funds, setting a target of at least $10 billion before the upcoming federal budget. Naqvi emphasized that only a small fraction of individuals violate laws, yet the entire business community faces consequences.
FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh highlighted rising costs of doing business due to law and order issues, logistical challenges, and increased security expenses. He called for digitalization, reduced bureaucratic hurdles, and a transparent system.
Patron-in-Chief of UBG S. M. Tanveer criticized the Federal Board of Revenue for excessive interference and taxation policies, stating these have negatively impacted industries.
Former minister Gohar Ejaz termed the visit a positive step, stressing the need for pro-business policies and investment in housing to boost economic growth.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to economic revival and policy reforms.
