K-Electric consumers may receive a Rs. 4.69 per unit reduction in tariff.

Date:

In a positive development for Karachi residents, electricity charges may decrease by Rs4.69 per unit for K-Electric consumers under the monthly fuel cost adjustment for April. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is set to conduct a hearing on the matter today.

If approved, the reduction could offer financial relief amounting to nearly Rs7.17 billion for K-Electric users.

At the same time, NEPRA is also expected to review a separate petition proposing an increase of Rs10 per unit in electricity tariffs for consumers in other parts of the country.

Previously, on June 5, NEPRA had approved a Rs2.99 per unit reduction in K-Electric’s tariff.
